Nottingham-born drummer Will Glaser brings his innovative trio to the Bonington performing jazz standards and original compositions to inspire and delight. Since graduating from Guildhall in 2014, Will has become an in-demand sideman to an array of British Jazz talent inlcuding Soweto Kinch, Dame Cleo Laine, Stan Sulzmann, Kit Downes, Nikki Iles and Henry Lowther.
Will’s influences draw eclectically from across jazz history and improvised music. He can be heard playing anything from traditional jazz, in straight-ahead settings to improvised music or avant-rock. Will's third album Climbing In Circles has this trio's 'relax into musical friendship, playing covers and originals.'
In 2019 Will recorded two well-reviewed duo albums - Climbing in Circles Part 1 & Part 2 - each with one of tonight's playing partner, Mathew Herd and Liam Noble respectively.
'Will says of these, “The aim of both albums was to focus in on the effect personality plays in improvised music and jazz, and how even the same tunes played in similar duo contexts with the same drummer can have wildly different end results”, and that’s certainly true.' - London Jazz News
