NB: Concert scheduled for recording for BBC Julian Siegel has won international acclaim with his own quartet, his New York trio and with the band he’s co-led for 20 years, Partisans. Less well known is his work with big bands even though he has performed with the big bands of Andrew Hill, Kenny Wheeler, Hermeto Pascoal, the BBC Big Band and many others. In 2012 he wrote a suite for The Voice of the North Orchestra, for the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra in 2014, and more recently for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Julian’s compositions will now feature with his own orchestra, a 17-piece ensemble, for the first time, featuring an all-star line up drawn from the UK jazz scene.
