Alexandra Lloyd

Primarily a session instrumentalist, performer and composer, Alley has worked with, and performed alongside a myriad of artists (see more below). Her work as a composer and instrumentalist has been featured on BBC Four, Barbican Cinema and Royal Academy of Dramatic Art's Vanbrugh Theatre. As a bandleader, Alley has directed and composed music for a multitude of different projects. One of her own projects, Soma, a jazz-fusion sextet, was awarded an artist residency at the Roundhouse after a few months on London's jazz scene. Alley has toured extensively and has performed in prestigious venues around the world, including the National Theatre of Kenya, National Theatre of Ethiopia, Opera Universitario di Trento, Théâtre de la Mer Séte, Parkorman Istanbul, Royal Festival Hall and many more. Alley also works as an artist in residence with Nzoyi Records, with whom she has recorded bass for a multitude of artists. You can find more about Nzoyi Records here. ​Alley also works as an educator, providing workshops on a multitude of different programmes at the Roundhouse (London), such as Nando's Music Exchange and Roundhouse Music Experience. She has also provided workshops at Young People's Theatre (London), and worked with Havana World Music Festival's 'Primera Base' contest (Cuba) as an audition panelist and guest-speaker.
