Paul Jefferies – double bass:
Known for his melodic pizzicato and arco solos and a pin-point sense of ‘time’, Paul began playing guitar, flute, piano and singing when he was seven and gravitated to bass guitar and performing with progressive-rock and blues bands in his teens. He performs with a wide range of ensembles and jazz luminaries including Craig Milverton, Tommaso Starace, Julian Marc Stringle, Roger Beaujolais, Nicolas Meier & Tina May. As well as his work with Piano Divas, Paul has toured extensively with Gypsy Fire and world class jazz violinist Ben Holder’s various ensembles and he is a founding member of the classical/jazz cross-over ensemble Rob Terry Trio. Paul's commitment to jazz is such that he runs several jazz clubs in Burton on Trent, Witney, Burford and Stow on the Wold.
