Originally from Doncaster, Nadim joined DYJA (Doncaster Youth Jazz Associaton), directed by John Ellis MBE, at the age of 13 and progressed rapidly in the field of Jazz receiving recognition from all over the country and winning numerous awards. He then went on from here to study a diploma in Jazz Studies at ‘Leeds College of Music’ further flaming his passion for music before eventually ending up at the ‘Royal Academy Of Music’ in 2008.
Tenor Saxophonist and Composer Nadim Teimoori graduated with ‘First Class Honours’ from the ‘Royal Academy Of Music’ (RAM) in 2012. He received tuition from great players/teachers such as Nick Smart, Gerard Presence, Iain Ballamy, Martin Speake, Pete Churchill and Gareth Lockrane just to name a few.
In 2011 whilst at the ‘Royal Academy Of Music’, Nadim won ‘The Humphrey Lyttelton Royal Academy of Music Jazz Award’ and performed alongside the ‘Humphrey Lyttelton Group’ at ‘Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club’. During his time at the ‘Royal Academy Of Music’, he was also nominated for ‘The Worshipful Company Of Musicians Jazz Award’ at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho.
Nadim is a former member of The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) performing with NYJO at places such as the BBC Proms in 2012, Valentines Park’ in Redbridge for the Queens ‘Diamond Jubilee’ and an impromptu album launch with Jamie Cullum as a featured soloist.
Nadim can also be found playing in different musical settings with some of the top names on the British Jazz scene including frequent performances with the Legendary Stan Tracey. He can also be found at other top venues in and around London such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, 606 Club, The Vortex and many others.
