Sonny Rollins, these renowned London based musicians James Allsopp (sax), Conor Chaplin (bass) and bandleader Dave Storey (drums), celebrate the legacy of one of the most important and influential jazz musicians in history.

Drawing inspiration from Rollins' career spanning over seven decades, the trio have selected a clutch of his classic original compositions & repertoire associated with “the greatest living improviser” especially for this tour of the Nottinghamshire libraries.

On March 2, 2011, Sonny Rollins received the Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama in a White House ceremony. Rollins accepted the award, the nation’s highest honor for artistic excellence, “on behalf of the gods of our music.”

Paying homage to one of the last surviving heroes of the music - saxophonist Sonny Rollins, these renowned London based musicians James Allsopp (sax), Conor Chaplin (bass) and bandleader Dave Storey (drums), celebrate the legacy of one of the most important and influential jazz musicians in history.
