This workshop will focus on our singers . The intention to look at singer's vocal range and the best keys for selected songs for each singer
All instrumentalists and singers are welcome. Musicians should have basic technical ability on their instruments. Edgar Macias will be our "Maestro". Edgar is a working jazz-latin/jazz pianist with enormous technical skill and a passion for modern jazz harmony and improvisation.
Based on tunes selected by the participants the mentors will explore the vocalist ranges and preferred keys for each song. Instrumentalists can develop backing harmonies and provide short solos.
We are also now also organising individual and small group (2 or 3) at a time lessons from mentors before and after the workshop itself. Please contact us if you would like to arrange one of these.
After the workshop there will be a gig held downstairs in The Lion and some workshop participants will be performing as guests. If you are interested it will be necessary to rehearse your number with the band prior to the 9th. Please indicate to us if you are interested in this collaboration.

A workshops performance will take place at The Chameleon Cafe 12 noon to 3.00pm on Sunday April 6th. If you are interested in participating, rehearsals will be required, so please contact Barbara for rehearsal dates.
