Basil Hodge is one of the best kept secrets on the London jazz scene. His piano playing is at once driving and subtle and his compositions are an impressive blend of post-bop and Latin jazz, inspired by the open, fresh sound of Blue Note's heyday and Coltrane-era jazz. Featuring saxophonist Tony Kofi and one of the finest rhythm sections in the country, Basil Hodge makes a rare but welcome return to the Bonington.
