The outstanding jazz saxophonist Gilad Atzmon pays a special tribute to Charlie Parker, performing new adaptations of music from the legendary 1949 Verve album Charlie Parker With Strings. The Gilad Atzmon Quartet and the Sigamos String Quartet will perform classics such as April in Paris and If I Should Lose You, as well as specially composed new works by Atzmon.
The combination of Atzmon's unparalleled bebop virtuosity with stunning string arrangements promises to create a powerful and unforgettable performance.
"It's as perfect a jazz marriage as you could wish for: the contrast between ice and fire, or the iron fist in the velvet glove." Phil Johnson, Independent on Sunday
