Tommaso Starace (alto/soprano) Jonathan Gee (piano) Larry Bartley (bass) Paolo Pellegatti (drums)
Inspired by the likes of Cannonball Adderley, Thelonious Monk and Billy Strayhorn, Tommaso Starace was last seen at the Bonington with his project based on the photographs of Elliot Erwitt. This new Jazz Services tour follows the progress of this young saxophonist, who trained with Jean Toussaint and Dave Liebman, and has worked with John Taylor, Kenny Wheeler and Billy Cobham. Performing regularly in Italy and the UK, Starace's post-Parker 50s sound is a delight.
