Jim Mullen is celebrated not only for the unfussy eloquence of his soloing but also for the uncontrived coherence his subtle comping gives to his band's sound. Sulzmann provides thoughtful and absorbing explorations of the carefully chosen material that forms the band's wide-ranging repertoire. An All Party Parliamentary Jazz Award nominee for 2008, this group will be playing a mixture of material from their current album Smokescreen and music from the new album Make Believe, scheduled for release in Spring 2009.
