Chris Laurence has one of the most sonorous and warm bass sounds in jazz. For many years, he has been the driving force behind bands led by John Surman, Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor and Norma Winstone. In 2007 he released an album under his own name for the first time, New View. Parricelli is a musical chameleon but retains his own individual voice, setting it against Ricotti's lyrical colours, and the ever shifting pulse of France, while Laurence quietly and unassumingly takes centre stage, creating filigree interaction of the highest order.
