More familiar for his appearances with Arnie Somgyi's Ambulance, saxophonist Booth has spent the summer touring with Steve Winwood and Tom Petty but here brings to the Bonington for the first time his own quintet, which featured on the recent album, No Looking Back. Compositions by Mingus, Ellington and Joni Mitchell stand alongside Booth's own. He manages to make the sophisticated sound effortless without letting up on the swaggering excitement of his solos.
