JAZZ SESSION For SINGERS

In the upstairs room at The Lion Inn, Basford.
Next to the Shipstone St Tram stop.
All singers are welcome. Sessions so far have attracted singers who wish to learn some jazz standards having sung only classical or popular music previously. Also others who love jazz and have never previously sung. The workshop sessions so far have proved invaluable for some singers allowing them to learn how to work with others and gain confidence. Small instrumental groupings have already emerged from the workshops and performed locally. Workshop vocalists have participated in all of these.
The session will focus for two hours (plus) on learning how to sing four jazz standards. These will be pre-selected and singers will be supplied with the lyrics ( if they request them) and encouraged to practice them at home before the session itself. Participants will sing the tunes in sequence. The session will be supervised by Barbara and Kevin will accompany everyone on guitar.
We will provide amplification but if you do have a microphone please bring it along.
